He arrived in Broken Hill from the Ukraine in 1908 reportedly after a time in Harbin, the most populous city in Northeast China.

2. Employment: Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia. He established Dryen's Stores in Argent St which son George further developed after his father's death.

3. Death, 23 Oct 1938, Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia. He was found dead in his Argent street shop on Sunday morning with a rifle between his legs and a bullet wound in his head. A finding of suicide was returned by the Coroner.

Leon married Sarah GOULD, daughter of Barnett Dov GOULD and Yetta GORDON, on 28 Jul 1920 in Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia.
